Samsung Plans to Bring Google Photos App to Its TVs in 2026
Samsung has officially announced plans to introduce Google Photos on Samsung Smart TVs in 2026, marking a major upgrade for users who want to enjoy their photos and videos on a larger screen.
Until now, Google Photos users were limited to casting content from Android devices or manually sideloading the app on TVs. With this upcoming integration, Samsung TV owners will be able to access their Google Photos library directly after signing in with their Google account.
Memories Feature to Launch First
Samsung revealed that the initial version of Google Photos on TVs will focus on the Memories feature, displaying curated photos and videos on the TV screen. This feature will remain exclusive to Samsung TVs for six months, giving Samsung users early access.
Once logged in, users’ personal photos and videos will automatically appear, allowing families to relive memories in a more immersive way.
AI-Powered Features Coming Later
Samsung also confirmed that future updates will introduce AI-powered tools, including:
AI image generation and editing
Remix feature, which allows users to convert photos into different artistic styles
These features aim to enhance creativity and personalize how memories are displayed on large screens.
Google’s Vision for Big-Screen Memories
“Google Photos is a home for people’s photos and videos, helping them organize and bring their memories to life,” said Shimrit Ben-Yair, Vice President of Google Photos and Google One. She added that bringing Google Photos to Samsung TVs will allow users to reconnect with their memories in new and meaningful ways.
• What This Means for Users
This move highlights Samsung’s focus on smart TV experiences and deeper integration with popular Google services. Once available, users will no longer need extra devices to view their photos on TV, making Samsung TVs more versatile and user-friendly.
